Question by Callie: Amazon Kindle: So what's the difference between the 3G one and the other one?
I want to get one but I noticed the one I'm planning on getting doesn't have 3G and the other one which is $ 50 higer does. What is the difference? Does the one without not save the futherest location you read or something like that? I have Kindle on my PC and it does that. If you have wifi in your house do you need the 3G one? I'm a bit confused by it.

They both save your place in the book.
The wifi version needs a wireless connection to work. The 3G one uses a wireless phone connection for data.

No, but then if you are away from your house, you will have no connection unless you can find an open wireless network.
The Kindle uses one of the connection types to download new content or to synch your location in a book. The lack of a connection though will not keep you from reading a book you have already down loaded.
